The Personal Lines Interest Group is one of 14 interest groups within the CPCU Society. Our purpose is to allow for and support a network of CPCU’s working in personal insurance. We can discuss common interests, concerns, share successes, discover new ways to apply knowledge, and find outlets for creativity and growth. All interest group members have access to each other through the CPCU Society's Interest Group Web site and by attending the Society's Annual Meeting and Seminars or other educational symposia sponsored by interest groups.
Topics recently discussed by Personal Lines Interest Group members are Technology in Personal Lines, Hawaiian Hurricanes, Diminished Value, Identity Theft, Senior Driving, Fraud in Personal Insurance, Insurance-to-Value (ITV), Insurance Education (why this has to happen at claim time?), Credit-Based Insurance Scoring, Road Rage, Underwriting via the Internet, Loss Cost Justification, and Information Privacy. We continue to look for cutting-edge topics to foster education as well as reinforcing traditional topics by reviewing from different angles. Our Interest Group also publishes a quarterly newsletter for its members.
If you are a new member to the Personal Lines Interest Group, there's a lot more to this than meets the eye on the web site. Just ask any of your peers that have been a part of this new group devoted to Personal Lines only issues and ideas. We thank current members for their involvement and encourage members to be active by using the discussion boards and finding new ways to make this large (and personal) aspect of the insurance community something of value for everyone.
Thanks for your continued support!
